Denise is an Account Executive at WKLK/WMOZ and works part time at the Superior Younker’s. In her spare time, she is the Vice President and Volunteer Coordinator for the Great Northern Classic Rodeo and is active with the local American Diabetes Association.

Miss Buzz has been employed by Superior Choice Credit Union for 20 years. She is the Senior Receptionist. Her duties include meeting and greeting customers, backing up the loan department, safety deposit box-es. Buzz previously worked for the Chamber for five years as the Special Events Secretary.

Heidi has been an employee at NBC since June 2005. In June 2005 she started as a Teller. In July 2006 she was promoted to a Commercial Loan Assistant; in January 2007 she was promoted to a Commercial Loan Administrative Assistant; in January 2008 she was promoted to a Credit Analyst for the Commercial Loans; in April 2008 she was promoted to a Commercial Loan Officer where she currently is today.

Ivi has joined the Chamber with an individual membership and is looking forward to being self-employed.

Murphy Oil USA, Inc is engaged in refining, marketing and transportation of petroleum products in the United States.

Jim is the Manager of Techni-cal Services at the Murphy Oil Superior Refinery. He manages the Process Engineering group, the Laboratory, and the Infor-mation Systems Department. He has worked with Murphy Oil in various engineering and management positions for the past fifteen years, including five years at the Meraux, Louisiana, Refinery.

Jim enjoys fishing, sports, playing guitar and singing.

Pat serves as an Ambassador Emeritus.  Until her retirement, Pat had been an employee at NBC for  44 years.

Pat is an active member of the Superior BID Marketing and Promotion Committee and works one day a week assisting visitors at our local Visitor Welcome Center.

We also do pedicures, manicures and acrylic nails, massages (theraputic, pre-natal, deep tissue, and just nice relaxing massages  They also sell wigs and specialize in wigs for people with cancer and other hair loss. We do carry fun wigs for special occasions and Halloween. There is a privacy room and all our records are private.

Patti is married and has four children, a daughter-in-law and two grandchildren. She bike rides, crochets, reads anything and loves to garden. In addition to being a Chamber Ambassador, Patti is involved with Ray of Hope, the Epilepsy Foundation, is a Board member for the Great Northern Classic Rodeo and is a member of the North Shore Sounds.

Kim is the Yield Accountant for Murphy Oil, Inc. Superior Refinery. She has been with Murphy Oil since April 1996. Her work duties include accounting for charge stock and refining yields from the receipt of crude oil through the refining process to finished product. She reports on yields, inventories and sales of product.

She is a life-long resident of Superior and a graduate of WITC and College of St. Scholastica. Hobbies include cooking and baking, gardening, working out at the gym, reading romance novels, and spending summer weekends in Iron River.

Charlie has been employed by Barkers Island Inn since 2007. As Sales Manager, his job includes acquiring outside business as well as many of the marketing and promotional tasks.

Charlie is a graduate of UWS, and he and his wife, Jodi, own a home in South Superior. Jodi teaches Kindergarten in Duluth. His favorite pastimes include hunting, fishing, and golfing, but Charlie can also be heard every fall on 91.3 KUWS as the Play-by-Play announcer of Superior Spartan Football games.

Denese has been employed with Douglas since 1999. She is the Administrative Assistant for the County Administrator. Her position includes a wide range of interesting duties from running the office and assisting Human Resources to producing the County Line with Steve Koszarek, a county program for public television.

Denese serves as secretary for the Ambassadors. She is a board member on WITC Alumni and the Catholic Credit Union (secretary) and is involved with United Way. She served in the past on the YMCA Board and Chaired the Douglas County Dragon Boat team for many years. Denese loves spending time with her granddaughter and family, going to the lake, golfing and spending time with friends.

Guest Service Manager at Barkers Island Inn Resort & Conference Center since May 2007. Shannon’s duties include Guest Services, working with all departments to ensure our guests are receiving the best service ever, Managing a Front Desk Staff of 13 employees, scheduling, reserving group room blocks, Hotel room promotions, budgeting for the Front Desk, scheduling and leading Front Desk meetings.

She is married to Ken Olson (the Sports Editor for the Daily Telegram) and has two children. They have lived in Superior their whole lives and love the area, the people and schools. Shannon is a member of St. Anthony’s Church, the Church Council and sings in the church guitar choir “The Spirit Seekers”. She is the Captain of Barker’s Island Inn’s Dragon Boat Team “Barkers Island Barracudas”. Her family is involved in many sports (hockey, soccer, softball, volleyball, baseball and dance).

She is the Co-Parent Involvement Coordinator at Great Lakes Elementary and is also a PTA member. Her duties include making parents feel welcome in the school community, helping with questions and concerns, chairperson of Bookfair, yearbook, and co-chairperson of the Knowledge-A-Thon. She is also active with her husband’s MN Army National Guard unit by helping plan fundraisers and support to all military families.

WITC offers career-focused associate degree programs, technical diplomas, short-term certificates, customized training, and a wide array of courses for personal or career enhancement.

Ann is the Conference Center Technician at Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College in Superior. She has been with WITC since 1999 and was the Admissions Advisor until July 2009, when she accepted her new position. Ann enjoys coordinating events that are scheduled and flow through the Conference Center providing guests with room arrangements, technology, and catering. She is also responsible for the accounting associated with her position.

Ann will graduate from UW-Stout in May 2010 with her Bachelor degree in Career and Technical Education and Training. She plans on starting a graduate program in the fall of 2010.

Ann is a board member and 2010 Campaign Co-chair for the United Way of Superior-Douglas and surrounding Counties, and past board member of CASDA and Douglas County Special Olympics. She also volunteers for other events, as time allows.

Most of her spare time is spent with her beautiful Granddaughter. Ann loves to cook, garden, read books with happy endings, and watch the Food Network for new recipes and tips.

As the Executive Assistant, Joy acts as liaison between Chancellor and all publics:  Regents, System President and other administrators, government officials, legislators, UW-S senior administrators, faculty, staff, students, Alumni Board, UW-S Foundation Board, parents, alumni, community.  Coordinate special events such as community receptions, accreditation visits on-campus, Board of Regents meetings and visits to and from the foreign countries with which UW-Superior has student/faculty exchange programs.

CHOICE, unlimited is a community-based private non-profit organization dedicated to supporting adults with disabilities and individuals who are experiencing barriers to employment and community inclusion.

Ed is the Job Developer with Choice, unlimited. He has over 12 years in production management, five years in sales management and two years as an independent contractor working in sales.

His interests include motorcycling, classic cars, woodworking and is an avid fisherman. Some think he’s crazy as he prefers winter/ice fishing to summer/open water fishing.  Ed lives south of Amnicon Lake off of County Road A in a home he designed himself and built in 2003-4.
