Staff

It was the summer of
1993 and I agreed to accept a temporary
job with “The Chamber” overseeing the Superior
Museums and running the Chamber events until
I could find a job I felt I could retire
from, well 15 years have skipped by and
I haven’t started looking for that other
job yet. Knowing that we are making a difference
in our community and working with a great
staff and so many wonderful volunteers makes
this the best place to work in Superior
& Douglas County.
I was appointed as President/CEO
of The Chamber 12 years ago. I have just
finished up my terms on the Board of Directors
for the Wisconsin Manufacturer of Commerce
and the Mid America Chamber of Commerce
Executives. I just began my 2nd
term on the Board of Directors for the Wisconsin
Chamber of Commerce Executives.
I am a member of the
Superior Noon Optimist club and the Superior
Sunrise Centennial Rotary Club. Jackie and
I along with our kids enjoy camping in the
summer time and to really relax we’ll invite
many friends over so I can cook which is
one of my true passions in this world.
|
|
|
|
|
I am
the Program Director for The Chamber, Superior
& Douglas County Area. Some of my job
responsibilities are overseeing the Youth Leadership
Program, (which this year we have 48 students
in the program which is a large increase from
the first year of 9) Progressive Power Lunch,
Silent Auction portion of the Superior Taste,
Playday Golf Outing sponsorships, the student
and educator awards portion of the Excellence
In Education Celebration, Business After Five,
Chamber Newsletter the "Connection" and assists
with the Chamber Annual Dinner. I have
been with the chamber since 1993.
I
moved to Superior
twenty-nine years ago from Little Falls, Minnesota.
I have five children and ten grandchildren who
I love spending time with. I own my own home
and love to garden in the summer and in the
winter like to quilt. I also like antiques
and have tried my hand at refinishing furniture.
I have
served on various committees and the Kiwanis
board. I also attended the Superior~Douglas
County Adult Leadership Program and have volunteered
for various things throughout the community.

I
started working for the Chamber in 1986 while
attending school at Wisconsin Indianhead Technical
College as support staff to the Office Manager.
Upon finishing my education, the Office Manager
position at the Chamber office became vacant
so I step forward to fill that position immediately
and have remained at the Chamber since.
In my position at the Chamber
throughout the years I have taken on many roles
& responsibilities and have enjoyed helping
to keep the Chamber on the cutting edge as technology
continues to move at a very rapid pace.
In my personal life my husband
and I own rental property in Superior, which
proves to be both very challenging and rewarding.
In my leisure time I enjoy traveling, camping,
boating and golfing with family and friends. |
|
|
|
|
I have worked at The Chamber for over 20
years, serving as support staff in several
areas including tourism. I currently serve
as Administrative Assistant to the President
of the
Chamber, offering secretarial/administrative
support and assisting with functions for the
Chamber including the coordination of
meetings, fundraising events and variety of
other tasks and projects.
Throughout the years there have been many
exciting changes, which have taken place
within this organization and I am thankful
to have been a part of it. The Chamber has
provided me with a sense of pride for our
community and the respect for the people who
live, work and play in Superior. |
|
|
|
|
I have been involved with The Chamber since
1984 when I joined the Chamber Ambassadors.
In 2001, I was hired as the Convention and
Visitor Bureau’s Group Services Coordinator
to promote our area to the motorcoach and
group travel industry.
Currently, I
work with Chamber membership sales and
marketing and promoting our area through the
Convention and Visitors Bureau. I am the
Superior representative to the Wisconsin
Harbor Towns Association, the Douglas County
representative to the Northwest Wisconsin
International Trade, Business and Economic
Development Council (ITBEC) Tourism Advisory
Committee, and the Superior~Douglas County
representative to Circle Wisconsin Region
One. I
have continued my relationship with the
Ambassadors as the staff liaison to the
Ambassadors.
Additionally, I have been active with the
Superior Business Improvement District since
its inception in 1989 and am currently the
Chair of its Marketing and Promotions
Committee.
I enjoy
traveling, hiking, biking, golfing, X-C
skiing, snowshoeing and photography. |
|
|
|
|
I've worked
with the CVB and Chamber since 2004. I
started out working at the Visitor Center as
a Tourist Information Specialist, helping people
find the fun things to do and finding their
way around Superior and Douglas County.
I currently
work at the Chamber office handling motor coach
planning and a number of other tourism related
activities.
I have 2
children and I take an active part in their
schools & family activities. I love the
outdoors here in Superior and Douglas County.
I get out and enjoy our area as often as possible
year-round with everything from rock-picking
at WI Point to ATVing, canoeing & ice-skating.
