Message From the President
"The growth of any organization is nurtured one member at a time." After
nine years as the President/CEO of your Chamber this has really become
our day-to-day mission. With each member we become a stronger advocate
and more effective in delivering your benefits and the return on your
investment you have made in the Chamber. As we look back at some of the
successes we had in 2004, we launched a Kids Voting Program with the
Superior School District where over 2500 students voted in the
Presidential election, we worked with our partners at the BID and
Development Association to stop a fire inspection fee, we continued to
build on the success of our networking events and made some of them even
bigger and stronger, the Youth Leadership Program continues to grow and
develop our future community leaders. The list can go on and on. Overall
we accomplished many things this year. As we look ahead to this coming
year and the opportunities that lie ahead I would challenge us to be
more like Geese than Buffalo. “Buffalo travel as a herd. But when the
lead buffalo is eliminated, the rest of the pack has no idea what to do,
since they simply follow the lead buffalo everywhere and do what he
does. A flock of geese however, drafts off of each other, takes turns
leading, and honks encouragement from behind. If one can't make it,
another stays behind until they can both travel onward”. So let’s
travel, GROW, One member at a time, and if you need help just honk.
