Welcome to Superior-Douglas County, nestled on the western tip
of the Great Lake Superior, the largest freshwater lake in the
world. Located in the northwest corner of Wisconsin and next to
northeastern Minnesota’s City of Duluth.
Our famous Twin Ports, one of the busiest in
the nation, is the leading bulk cargo port on the Great Lakes.
We are one of the most popular leisure Destination’s on Lake

conventions destination. Facilities include:
Barker’s Island Inn
& Conference Center, a 3000 square foot banquet center for up to
340 guests;
Wessman Arena-22,000 square feet for 1200 guests;
Rothwell Student Center’s 2 rooms for 450 each plus 4
auditoriums and an arena;
Harrington Arts Center-700 person
auditorium; Head of the Lakes Fairgrounds/Superior Curling
Club-700 guests; St. Croix Inn-300 guests; WITC Superior-210
guests; Shack Smokehouse & Grill-150 guests; plus numerous
facilities for smaller groups.
Douglas County
is also home to two uniquely designed Retreat Centers set on
their own lakes…Minnesuing
Acres and
Heartwood Conference Center & Retreat. Whether a quiet
retreat for a small group or a corporate conference for a large
group, they have the meeting facilities and accommodations to
make your event a success.
