The Staff Accountant position is responsible for financial statements, management reports, payroll, sales tax, established procedures relating to the general ledger, and other recurring accounting work for our clients. Accounting • Performs Accounting functions relating to the general ledger, financial statements, and management reports as it relates to our recurring clients. • Monitors cash accounts via online banking, reviewing balances, and reconciling bank accounts. • Collects data to perform journal entries and prepare financial statements. • Reconciles assigned general ledger accounts according to the fixed price agreement with each client. • Actively participates in the monthly closing of client’s book. • Completes and files client’s WI and MN sales tax returns online. • Completes and files required regulatory and compliance documents for clients. • Gathers accurate data necessary to complete clients annual 1099 Filings. • Responsible for day-to-day communication with assigned clients. • Assists the Accounting Manager with the collection of data for annual audits. • Gathers data, analyzes, and completes special projects as assigned by the Accounting Manager. • Assists the Accounting Manager to ensure the organization meets necessary financial, regulatory, and compliance requirements. Payroll • Reviews time and attendance records necessary to process payroll. • Calculates or review hours for all wage categories. • Processes and issues client payroll in an efficient and timely manner. • Prints and reviews payroll reports according to the clients’ needs. • Ensures compliance with company policies, internal control standards, and regulatory requirements. • Maintains and files payroll related reports and documents • Performs other related duties as assigned.
