    Job Description
    Interviews may be scheduled as applications are received, and positions may be filled prior to the deadline.

    SCHEDULE:  weekdays/weekends/afternoons/evenings
    Most positions:   30-40 hours/week; 6 days a week with one day off/week
    Some positions: 15-20 hours/week
    Ice Rinks will tentatively open December 16th, 2022 through March (weather permitting).
             *Must be available for training the week of December 12th.

    WAGE:  2022 wage $15.00/hour

    Performs a variety of duties in support of ice skating at various hockey and figure skating rink locations throughout the City. Duties include, but are not limited to working with facilities and equipment, cleaning, shoveling snow, keeping records and monitoring and assisting program participants and public.

    Employment Standards:

    Ability to:
    Actively motivate program participants; Effectively deal with stressful and emergency situations;
    Hear and distinguish a variety of sounds such as those of participants in need of assistance in a noisy environment, fire alarms, and approaching vehicles or equipment which might pose a danger; See program participants in need of assistance from near and far distances; Speak loudly in order to warn program participants of impending danger. Exercise authority to carry out the duties of the position. Administer first aid; Perform a variety of tasks requiring physical strength such as moving boxes which weigh up to 35 pounds, assisting in moving children, and leading and playing games/sports.

    Requirements/Special Requirements:

    Any combination of training and experience which would provide the required knowledges and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain these knowledges and abilities would be: through equivalent to High School graduation (must be at least 18 years old).
    Residency Requirement:  No residency requirement.
    Background Investigation Requirement:  Must pass a background investigation related to working with children prior to hire.
    Special Working Conditions:  Exposure to variable temperatures and weather conditions; noise from children; and the possibility of administering first aid which may involve exposure to infections which may cause chronic disease or death.
    Other Special Requirements:  Availability to work variable schedules including evenings, weekends and holidays. Must pass post-offer drug screen.
