    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

    Casting Call for Donors

August 15, 2018 (Duluth, MN) – To help support the need for blood around the Labor Day holiday, Memorial Blood Centers is offering all presenting donors from September 1-8 the opportunity to win Hamilton tickets!  Simply present to donate at any blood drive or donor center to be entered into the drawing.  Visit MBC.ORG/THEATER.

The need for blood is constant.  The supply is not.  Summer months can be a challenging time to collect enough blood to meet the needs of hospitals.  Give blood with Memorial Blood Centers, the local blood bank, and help your neighbors in need.

Donating blood is convenient and safe when you are:

    • In good health
    • Free of antibiotics for 24 hours, unless taken daily for a skin condition
    • Symptom-free for at least 3 days following a cold or a flu
    • 17 years or older—16 with written parental consent (form available at MBC.ORG)

While walk-in donors are always welcome, we encourage appointments be made in advance. To register for a blood drive, go online to MBC.ORG or contact the sponsoring organization directly. Visit MBC.ORG and search blood drives to find the most up-to-date blood drive list in your community.

August 15, 2018 (Duluth, MN) – As students go back to school, they go back to saving lives. More than 18% of blood donated with Memorial Blood Centers is given at high school blood drives.

Memorial Blood Centers staff will help you plan everything from the first email to the last cookie.  Visit MBC.ORG/Host-A-Drive for more information.

Patients in our local hospitals depend on Memorial Blood Centers to be there with the right blood type they need to survive.  All types are needed—especially O negative (O-) and O positive (O+).  It’s also important to keep your appointment—or to call and reschedule.  Your appointments help MBC plan a stable supply of blood for local hospitals.
