    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

    DTA Bus Operator Paul Mattson is the 2018 MN State Bus Roadeo Grand Champion

    First place in the Minnesota Public Transit Association’s (MPTA) Minnesota State Bus Roadeo Large-Bus Division Competition and the 2018 Grand Champion is Paul Mattson from the Duluth Transit Authority (DTA) with a score of 665 out of 700.  Second place is Richard Roser from the DTA with a score of 575.  Third place is Todd Pfelsticker from Metro Transit with a score of 572.

    Mattson will now represent the State of Minnesota in the 2019 American Public Transportation Association’s (APTA) International Bus Roadeo.

    First place in the Minnesota Public Transit Association’s (MPTA) Minnesota State Bus Roadeo Small-Bus Division Competition and the 2018 Grand Champion is Todd DeZurik from St. Cloud Metro Bus who had a score of 607 out of 700.  Second place is Glenn Zimmell from Tri Cap with a score of 584.  Third place is T.J. Johnson from Transit Alternatives with a score of 575.

    DeZurik will now represent the State of Minnesota in the 2019 Community Transportation Association of America’s National Bus Roadeo.

    The 2018 Driver of the Year Award went to Jean O’Neill from Metro Transit.  This award is selected by the bus operators who competed in the Minnesota State Bus Roadeo.
