    DTA Buses Will Detour Due to Superior Street Reconstruction Project

    DULUTH, MINNESOTA (April 9, 2018) – The Duluth Transit Authority (DTA) will detour all bus routes traveling to-and-from the west from the Duluth Transportation Center (DTC) effective Monday, April 16, 2018.  This detour is due to Phase I of the Superior Street Reconstruction Project which will close Superior Street from 3rd Avenue West to Mesaba Avenue.  This detour will last through mid-July or until Phase I is completed.

    All bus routes travelling inbound and outbound west of the DTC will detour as follows:

    Outbound “From Downtown” to the west: 
    From the DTC, buses will travel on 3rd Avenue West to 1st Street, left on 1st Street, left on Mesaba Avenue to Superior Street returning to regular route.  This routing includes outbound express trips: 2X, 3X and 16X. 

    Inbound “To Downtown” from the west: 
    Regular route to Superior Street and Mesaba Avenue, then via Mesaba Avenue to 2nd Street, right on 2nd Street, right on 3rd Avenue West to the DTC returning to regular route. 

    Inbound “To Downtown” 2X and 3X: 
    Regular route to North I-35 and Superior Street/Mesaba Avenue exit, then continue on I-35 to 5th Avenue West exit, left on 5th Avenue West, right on Michigan Street to the DTC.
     
    11, 11M and 11K Trips using 3rd Street to 4th Avenue West: 
    Regular route to 4th Avenue West and 2nd Street, left on 2nd Street, right on 3rd Avenue West to the DTC returning to regular route.
     
    Trips from the east using 1st Street to 6th Avenue West to Superior Street to DTC: 
    Regular route to 1st Street and 3rd Avenue West, then left on 3rd Avenue West to DTC and regular route.

    This detour will be effective during the entire Phase I of the Superior Street Reconstruction Project which is anticipated to last until early to mid-July.  Temporary bus stops will be placed along the detour route.
