Make your 4th patriotic and memorable in 2021 with the General and President!  Join Col. Theodore Roosevelt and General George S. Patton on Sunday, July 4 at the Richard I. Bong Veterans Historical Center.  The Center’s 4th of July events have been a hit with visitors since 2018.  Meet these two great figures from American history at this one of a kind event.  Tour the Bong Center before or after each program. Program admittance is included with paid general or Heavy Metal Tour admission to the Center.

“We are excited to welcome back Teddy this year and to have General Patton joining him,” states Executive Director Dustin Heckman. “This was planned as the 2020 event before COVID hit so we are very appreciative that both performers are able to be here.”

Considered one of the most successful combat generals in U.S history, George Patton was the first officer assigned to the Tank Corps in WWI. During WWII, he helped lead the Allies to victory in the invasion of Sicily, and was instrumental to the liberation of Germany from the Nazis. General Patton will talk at 1:30 pm and 3:30 pm.

Roosevelt led the charge up Kettle Hill and then San Juan Hill to defeat the Spanish in Cuba in the Spanish American war, his bravery and leadership in the field led to his governorship of New York and then to The White House. Teddy will talk at 2:30 pm and 4:30 pm.

Learn about battles, leadership and the history of these men and how we celebrate the 4th because of their contributions.

Come to the Bong Center on July 4th and celebrate our country’s independence with this wonderful event!
