The Superior-Douglas County Chamber of Commerce board of directors has named Taylor Pedersen as its President/CEO to permanently replace David Minor, who resigned in July 2017 to accept the CEO position at the Eau Claire Area Chamber of Commerce.

Pedersen has been with The Chamber since 2013, serving as director of the Visitors Bureau and Member Services. He has been in the interim role since July 2017.

“I’m happy that the Board of Directors is able to make this announcement!” said Chamber Board Chair Charlie Place. “Based on a number of goals and objectives we set for Taylor to accomplish during the interim, all of which he did a wonderful job to meet, we know he will do great. He already knows The Chamber of Commerce organization, is hard working and well thought of, has established relationships, business acumen, and is very much part of our community. We couldn't be happier to announce Taylor as our next President/CEO and look forward to him leading the organization into the future.”

Prior to joining The Chamber, Pedersen was general manager of Synergy Wireless, an AT&T authorized retailer; finance manager of the Superior Housing Authority and owner/operator of an American Family Insurance agency, all in Superior. Before that he worked in the Twin Cities in finance and accounting.

Pedersen, 34, is a Superior native and Superior Senior High graduate who earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management.

Pedersen noted, “I am extremely excited for the chapter ahead, both personally and professionally, we are now in our 140th year as a Chamber and I am proud to be part of the leadership who has steered this great ship. This is a team effort, we have a great board of directors and fantastic staff, and I thank all of the support I’ve received from our partners as well as family. We are a dynamic organization with components in commerce, tourism, and youth development. We have great existing programs. I look forward to trying new ideas as we continue to work hard and bring value to our members and the community, as well as make Superior and Douglas County a better place to live, work, and play.”

The Chamber is located at 205 Belknap Street in Superior, Wisconsin. Its phone number is 715-394-7716; its web address is www.SuperiorChamber.org.
