Superior Choice Credit Union branches host donation drives for area emergency housing shelters
In an effort to help area emergency housing shelters stock their shelves with much-needed supplies, all six branches of Superior Choice Credit Union are hosting a supplies drive for area shelters from Sept. 5 through Sept. 29.
Items such as household cleaning products, personal hygiene supplies, and more are being collected at the credit union’s Tower Avenue, Shoreline, Duluth Denfeld, Hermantown, Ashland, and Mellen branches. Supplies from the Tower Avenue and Shoreline branches will be distributed to Harbor House Crisis Shelters in Superior, supplies from the Duluth Denfeld and Hermantown branches will be distributed to CHUM Emergency Shelter and Housing Services, and supplies from the Ashland and Mellen branches will be distributed to the New Day Shelter in Ashland.
“Often the key to reaching financial stability is having a safe, healthy place to live,” said Gary Elliott, SCCU President & CEO. “The emergency housing shelters in our service areas do tremendous work to help get people back on their feet. Our credit union is happy to support the shelters’ mission toward providing safe housing for people in our area. We’re hopeful that collecting and donating much-needed supplies can make an impact toward stable housing and financial wellness.”
Donation boxes and wish lists are available at each Superior Choice Credit Union branch. For more information on which supplies are needed for each shelter, visit www.superiorchoice.com/blog.
