UW-Superior Foundation’s Superior Day of Giving is June 2
The University of Wisconsin-Superior Foundation will host its sixth annual Superior Day of Giving on Tuesday, June 2. The 24-hour online event, gives alumni, community partners, and the greater Yellowjacket community the opportunity to support Yellowjacket students through the Superior Fund. With changes to campus over the past several months, UW-Superior students need the support of our community now more than ever.
“In the last few months we have all had to navigate challenges, in similar as well as different ways,” said Jeanne Thompson, Vice Chancellor for University Advancement. “One thing remains constant, though, and that is our gratitude to our generous and caring alumni and friends.”
Most gifts received on Superior Day of Giving are made online but can also be made by mail. When a donation is made online, the donor receives an “I Gave” graphic to share on their Facebook, Instagram or other social media account to let others know they contributed. Every gift of any amount made to the Superior Fund on June 2 will count toward this year’s goal.
“Recently many alumni and friends reached out with humbled concern and well wishes for our students and employees,” said Thompson. “Others provided kudos to our class of 2020, who are waiting to walk across the stage to celebrate their academic achievement until December. Our sixth annual Superior Day of Giving is another way to continue that generous and caring commitment by financially supporting our students and university. Contributions received during this 24-hour fundraising drive will make a direct impact on the challenges of today and successes of tomorrow.”
