UW-Superior Link Center announces Eric Liu, second in four-part free virtual speaker series
The University of Wisconsin-Superior’s Link Center will present CEO of Citizen University and Civic Evangelist Eric Liu, for a free virtual presentation open to the community from noon to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 13.
Liu, who is one of the country’s most sought-after speakers on citizen power, civic health, the future of democracy and American identity, will speak on the topic, “Civic health: The future of our communities depends on it.”
“Liu’s talk on the power of citizenship will go beyond the importance of voting,” said Jenice Meyer, UWS community engagement & strategic partnerships senior officer. “Attendees will walk away with practical and inspiring examples of the difference they can make as citizens.”
Liu served as a White House speechwriter for President Bill Clinton and later as the President’s deputy domestic policy adviser. He has written eight books, directs the Aspen Institute’s Citizenship & American Identity Program and is a correspondent at TheAtlantic.com. His 2019 TED Talk, based on his work at Citizen University topped one million views in less than a month.
