University of Wisconsin-Superior Yellowjacket student-athletes will be going door-to-door throughout Superior on Thursday, Dec. 12, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. as part of the Caroling for Cans event. Donations will benefit the food shelf at St. Vincent de Paul.
Caroling for Cans will begin with a special kickoff at 6 p.m. in the Yellowjacket Union Shippar Family Atrium. The 15-minute event will include remarks from UW-Superior Student-Athlete Advisory Committee president Mathea Brink before all teams head outside to their designated caroling areas in the city.
“Last year was our best year in terms of food donations, and we were able to donate almost 1,000 pounds of food to the food shelf,” said Nick Bursik, UW-Superior athletics director. “We hope this year will be even better.”
UW-Superior’s Yellowjacket Athletics is currently taking part in its fourth-annual Week of Giving, which runs December 8 - 15. The Yellowjacket Union is located at 1605 Catlin Ave. in Superior.
