    March 29, 2018
April is Undergraduate Research Month and University of Wisconsin-Superior students will be presenting their research, scholarship, and creative projects at events in Wisconsin and beyond.
Five students will leave Wednesday, April 3, to attend the National Conference on Undergraduate Research in Oklahoma, which runs April 4 - 7. They will join peers from campuses across the country at the conference, which is sponsored by the Council on Undergraduate Research.
The following week, UW-Superior will send seven students with their projects to Research in the Rotunda in Madison, Wis., on April 11. The state-wide event is held in the Capitol Rotunda, and includes projects from all of the UW System campuses. Students will meet with legislators from their home districts, hear from UW System President Ray Cross, and present their work to legislators, state employees, alumni, and members of the public. The event gives campuses a chance to show elected officials and state leaders the type of research that is happening on their campuses, and also provides an opportunity to talk about the importance of research and creative activity for students and the impacts it can have in our region.
On April 20, seven students will travel to the 17th annual UW-System Symposium for Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity hosted by UW-Green Bay. This event includes students from all UW System campuses in all disciplines.
These events give students the opportunity to present work they have been doing throughout the past year. Sharing the results is a key part of doing any research, creative, or scholarly work. Some students completed their projects as a Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship or McNair project, others may have been a course assignment or by working with a faculty mentor outside of class.
