UW-Superior to host ''Fire and Ashes'' Choirs Concert
The University of Wisconsin-Superior Music Department will host its Choirs Concert titled “Fire and Ashes,” on Tuesday, March 14, at 7:30 p.m. in Thorpe Langley Auditorium.
The UW-Superior A Capella and Chamber Choirs will perform a chant by Hildegard von Bingen, a set of madrigals by Claudio Monteverdi, excerpts from Mozart’s Requiem, and jazz-inspired settings of Langston Hughes poetry.
“Fire and Ashes will be a journey which explores the ways the concept of fire is used as a metaphor for aspects of our human experience,” said Michael Fuchs, director of choral activities at UW-Superior.
Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for seniors and free for students.
