Spring is officially here and as we thaw out from our long winters nap, it's time to start SPRING CLEANING. As you try to decide what and how you're going to fit stuff in your trash cans, the City of Superior is offering relief. On Saturday April 25th from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. the City of Superior Landfill (on Moccasin Mike Rd.) will be open and will allow dumping of most trash FREE OF CHARGE.
There are of course several rules and guidelines that need to be followed:
City of Superior residents only please (proof of residency required; such as driver's license or State issued ID card).
Please bag and tie all possible items.
All loads MUST be covered during transport to avoid littering and a fine.
Landfill gates will close promptly at 2:30.
Individual household items only please (no contractors, landlords or business owners).
In addition to regular garbage, the following items will be accepted if you notify the landfill personnel when you arrive:
Brush and tree debris- this is the only date and site that will be available for free dumping of brush this spring.
Motor oil and oil filters in leak proof containers.
Yard clippings and leaves, (must be bagged separate from regular trash).
** For a small fee you may also dispose of mattresses and tires.
Passenger tires only, 18'' or less- limit 5. Dumping fee: $2 each or $3 w/rim
Mattresses and box springs will be accepted for a charge of $8 each if dry or $9 each if wet or heavily soiled. Place mattresses on top of load so they don't get wet and to allow for easy unloading into a separate container at landfill.
Sorry these items cannot be accepted at the landfill (please refer to bottom of this list for suggest alternatives):
No demolition/construction materials
No fluorescent bulbs
No batteries
No commercial or contractor refuse
No corrugated cardboard or other recyclables
No televisions, computers or electrical appliances
**Possible alternatives for recyclables a
