The 4th Annual Running for our Heroes 5K run/walk will take place on Saturday, September 30, at 9 am. Registration check-in as well as the start/finish line is all located at the UW-Superior Marcovich Wellness Center. Prizes and awards will be presented to the top three male and female finishers and the top three in each age category. Age categories are as follows: 10 & under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39,40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+ All race participants will also have the opportunity to win some amazing prizes sponsored by numerous businesses around the area. Each person will have a ticket entered into a drawing. This drawing for door prizes will be held following the awards ceremony. There will be a free-quarter mile kid’s race beginning at 8:45 a.m. taking place near the start/finish line in front of the Marcovich Wellness Center. (We are not responsible for watching children after or during the races.) Kids 12 and under can participate in the kids race (kids 12 and under can still also run the full 5K race if they wish to register) All proceeds from this 5K Run/Walk will benefit the Douglas County Soldiers and Sailors Relief Fund as well as the UW-Superior Veteran and Nontraditional Student Center.
