Barrens Fest
Name: Barrens FestDate: July 15, 2015Time: 3:00 PM - 10:00 PM CDTEvent Description:Come explore the "Bird Sanctuary" of Douglas County. Join the friends of the Bird Sanctuary for guided hikes, presentations, activities, and demonstrations. All activities are free and start at the bird sanctuary clubhouse located just south of Solon Springs. Turn West at the junction of county hwy M. and 53. Travel half mile to Bird Road. Turn right (north) and go 3/4 mile. The clubhouse is on the right. Picnic supper available.

6:50-7:35- Secretive Herptiles of the Barrens Hike Greg Kessler, WDNR Wildlife Bio. Connect the Barrens Habitat-How? Presentation Bob Hanson, WDNR Wildlife Bio.
9:00-10:00- Wolf Howling, Night Jars, Stars! Fest Grounds Eric Fromm, USDA Biologist and friends. Hikes will be on generally even terrain and last ~ 45 minutes. Water will be available at the Fest Grounds. In case of severe weather, hikes may be converted to brief discussions between scheduled presentations in the clubhouse.
