Name: Creating a New Normal: The Arts in Superior in a Post-Pandemic World
    Date: September 30, 2021
    Time: 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM CDT
    Event Description:

The arts and culture sustain and attract people and businesses that underpin local economies. Even before the pandemic, many Wisconsin communities were experiencing population declines that impacted their local economies, with fewer workers, jobs, and businesses, and slower growth in income. Those communities that were thriving share common features: a diverse economy featuring vibrant creative businesses harnessing culture, arts, and places, and businesses which locate in communities that are attractive for their managers and employees.

Now, as the pandemic eases, there’s hope on the horizon. The question before us is, how can Superior engage people, organizations, businesses, and communities in the arts, to make sure all get to participate and benefit? The community has all the assets it needs to build a new normal and re-activate the region’s creative economic, workforce and community power from the ground up.

Let’s get together to dream and act. Join people from the arts, business, education, government, political and civic worlds in a community meeting to help re-imagine the possibilities for the arts and culture in the region. Come together to share your ideas, dreams, thoughts, recommendations, and actions on growing the creative economy at home and beyond.

This will be an informal, participatory meeting of minds and hearts, with plenty of good conversation, information, ideas, and good food. Please join us!
