    Name: Cultivating Compassionate Communication
    Date: November 1, 2018 - November 2, 2018
    Event Description:
Talk So People Will Listen & Listen So People Will Talk: Cultivating Compassionate Communication Would you like to be able to communicate in a way that is very honest, without any criticism, insults or put-downs? Without any implication of wrongness? It is possible! Learning to communicate compassionately and empathetically will help you build personal and professional relationships, even in difficult situations. In this two-day workshop you will learn the basics of a model of communication known internationally as Nonviolent Compassionate Communication (NVC) (www.cnvc.org). You will experience how leading with heartfelt empathy can transform conflict and begin to develop the skills to honestly speak your mind without triggering defensiveness, constructively express anger in a way others can hear and lead by communicating authentically with compassionate honesty. This workshop will be highly interactive, allowing time for everyone to talk and everyone to listen. The only way to build your skills with the NVC model is to use them and you will have many opportunities to practice throughout these two days. To facilitate your ongoing learning and practice, we encourage you to bring an "empathy buddy", someone with whom you will continue to learn and practice after the training. Your Buddy can register with you for half price. Group discounts may be available. Please contact Esther Gieschen at 715-394-8529 or egiesche@uwsuper.edu.
