The 7th Annual Excellence in Education Awards Ceremony takes place on Tuesday, May 31st at the Superior Middle School.
The Excellence in Education Awards ceremony was developed 7 years ago to honor the students who are graduating from the Chamber Youth Leadership two-year program as well as those students who have been chosen by each school to be recognized for their academic accomplishments and for students who are receiving scholarships.
The Superior High School Scholarship Awards will also be presented. A history of the scholarships being presented will be explained and how they originated. Scholarship recipients will be recognized at this time.
There will be students honored from our area high schools, Superior, Northwestern and Solon Springs. The spirit in which this award is offered reflects recognition that success in life and in one's job is often determined more by attitude, effort and ability to apply learning than by academic achievement alone. The schools choose which students they want to honor and the student then nominates an educator or mentor that has been instrumental in their lives.
The 2011 Youth Leadership graduating students will be honored and the incoming juniors will then be introduced.
There is no cost to attend the event but ask that you make reservations for your Free Tickets. Please indicate on the registration form in the comments section if you are associated to a student or an award recipient.
Doors open at 5:30 PM and the program will start promptly at 6:30 PM.
