Our second annual Foolin' Around with your Family Tree genealogy program, co-sponsored by the Douglas County Genealogy Club, features keynote speaker Lee Grady, archivist from the Wisconsin Historical Society. Lee will share information about the best way to track down ancestors using the records from county and state institutions (orphanages, prisons, sanitariums, etc.). Participants can also join an optional breakout session with David Johnson who will share his tips and tricks for getting the most out of Ancestry.com. There will also be lots of time for independent genealogy research using the library's many genealogy resources, with assistance from volunteers and library staff as needed. Participants must register in advance. Registration forms are available at the Circulation Desk. If you'd like to order a box lunch, indicate your sandwich choice on the registration form and bring $8 cash to the event. Beverages will be provided by the Friends of the Library.
