A free Cyber Girls workshop for girls in grades 5-12 will be held on Friday, March 20 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a pizza lunch included. Participants will learn about the many unique activities available to women in the field of cybersecurity. Cyber Girls is open only to girls in grades 5-12. Girls will learn about cyber and password safety, social network safety, and career exploration through hands-on activities. Held at Lake Superior College’s main campus and led by LSC’s Computer Information Systems Department and sponsored by the U.S. Department of Defense, the workshop is designed for girls grades 5-12 who have an interest in technology, networking, programming and cybersecurity. The U.S. Department of Defense has funded the LSC Cyber Day workshop to increase awareness about the many jobs available in the cybersecurity field.
