Go with the Flowage Canoe/Kayak Races

Calling all paddlers! Shake out those Winter kinks and take part in an excellent race on the Gordon Flowage.

There will be numerous prizes, lunch at the North Shore Resort, a free drink coupon for the post-race beverage of your choice, random drawings at the award ceremony (must be present to win), and a one-year membership in the Gordon/St Croix Flowage Association.

Entry fee is $30 for tandem teams and $20 for solo entries. Entries are non-refundable. All proceeds benefit the Flowage Association and support its efforts to preserve and protect the Flowage.

Five race categories, plus untimed sightseeing class: Racing Tandem Canoe, Racing Solo Canoe, Racing Solo Kayak, Rec Tandem Canoe or Kayak, Rec Solo Canoe or Kayak, and untimed, informal sightseeing class. 14 miles racing, 7 miles rec, and any distance for sightseeing cruise.

Course description: Start and finish at the North Shore Resort, 2.7 miles W of Hwy 53 on Flowage Lane.

Although the Flowage is a fairly large body of water, most of the course will be in sheltered bays and channels. Paddlers in the racing classes will also travel upstream to the Gordon Ranger Station before returning to the Flowage.
