    Event Description:
    Douglas County Historical Society will host the first of its series of History Sundays with the documentary, ALASKA FAR AWAY, a story about 203 families who participated in the Matanuska Colonization Project of 1935, an experimental farming colony. Nine of those families were from Douglas County. The public is welcome cost of $3.00 per person, free admission to members. Refreshments provided.
