Kwik Trip Opening Alternative Fuel Location in Superior, Wisconsin -- Hosting Educational Seminar

Kwik Trip, Inc., the Wisconsin based chain of Convenience Stores, announced today that it will bring CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) to one of its new stations in Superior, WI opening in September.

Kwik Trip has committed to developing a functional Compressed Natural Gas vehicle fuel infrastructure which now includes 25 locations throughout Wisconsin, Minnesota and Iowa.  The new Superior CNG site will be located at 3027 East Second Street.  In addition to traditional gasoline, the site will offer CNG and diesel fuel with dispensers located at a separate heavy-duty island for easy access. 

Kwik Trip believes in order to be successful they need to drive both Natural Gas Vehicle adaptation and simultaneously build a functional infrastructure for their guests.  Joel Hirschboeck, Commercial Fuels Superintendent states, “Kwik Trip owns and operates over 90 NGV’s, ranging from light duty vehicles to heavy duty class 8 semis. Through our own anchor fleet, we can test, promote and educate Kwik Trip consumers about the benefits of Natural Gas as a vehicle fuel.”

On July 17^th, Kwik Trip will host an educational seminar on Natural Gas, as well as their other fuel offerings.  Commercial Fuels Project Coordinator Ruanna Hayes explains, “The seminar is an excellent opportunity for fleet owners and operators to learn about Natural Gas as a vehicle fuel and to network with individuals involved in the natural gas industry.”

Specific topics to be discussed are: Natural Gas basics, Kwik Trip infrastructure, CNG engines and vehicle offerings, real world experiences and ROI. Commercial Sales representatives will also be on hand to offer private fuel consultations for fleets. The seminar, starting at 9:30 am and running until 12:30 pm, will be held at The Inn on Lake Superior, 350 Canal Park Duluth, MN. The seminar is free of charge and includes a lunch.
