    Time: 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM CST
    Event Description:
Learn about exciting careers and earning potential first-hand from professionals in truck driving and firefighting at Lake Superior College's Feb. 9 Firefighting and Truck Driving Career Night. Curious about driving big rigs? Go for a ride in a semi-truck and get the feel of the road from a professional truck driver's vantage point. With the strong demand for professional truck drivers, job placement from the Lake Superior College trucking program is excellent. Get your commercial driver’s license (CDL) and you can be on the road in as little as seven weeks. Representatives from trucking companies, including Halvor Lines and Jeff Foster Trucking, will be on site with their trucks to talk about the profession and earning potential. Interested in fire-fighting? Get in-depth information about what you need for skills, aptitude and physical fitness to become a fire fighter. Talk with experienced fire fighters about their on-the-job experiences. Tour LSC's firefighting facilities, including practice burn areas, and suit up with turn-out gear. LSC's fleet of fire trucks, emergency vehicles and truck trailers will be on display with faculty and students providing tours of facilities and equipment. Advisors will be on hand to answer questions and provide information about financial aid, transfer, and other service areas. The free Firefighting and Truck Driving Career Night will offer these hands-on experiences and more from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 9 at LSC’s Emergency Response Training Center, 11501 Highway 23, Duluth.
