The North Central Windows Program will hold a ''Lammas'' First Harvest Community Arts
and Music Festival on Saturday, Aug. 1, 2015 in beautiful Billings Park, Superior. Lammas
is an Anglo-Saxon festival traditionally held on Aug. 1 to celebrate the first wheat harvest
and protection of the crops. The festival runs from noon to 8 p.m.
Susan Meyers, executive director of NCWP says this fundraiser is about community. ''NCWP
serves the community, and we are supported by the community. This festival gives us the
opportunity to come together and showcase NCWP and other local human service based community
agencies while promoting local musicians, providing activities for children, showing and selling local
art and serving healthy food," she said.
The public is invited to attend; this is a family-friendly event. Stop by and enjoy art by local
artists, safety demonstrations, tons of fun for kids, fresh produce and homemade food. Also
enjoy talented musicians from the area, including Arna Rennan Finish Folk Singer, Chase down blue,
Jake Vainio, The Brothers Burn Mountain and Toby Churchill. The music will begin at noon and end
at 8 p.m. Dancing is a very healthy activity!!
Suggested admission is $5 for adults, and children under 12 are free when accompanied by
an adult. Admission ticket enters you into a drawing for a door prize of an iPad Mini. There
