This certificate will provide the fundamentals required for leading and managing a nonprofit organization and will enhance a current nonprofit leader?s ability in that role. Executive directors, program directors, board members, and others who are interested in learning about the joys and challenges of working in the social sector are encouraged to participate. Workshops are interactive, encouraging participants to learn from each other as well as from the instructor. Monthly workshops cover the core areas identified by most councils of nonprofits in their principles and practice recommendations including: societal roles and responsibilities, governance, strategic planning, financial management, program development and assessment, employee management, communication and marketing.
