Learn to X-C Ski Afternoons

Pre-registration is required for those wishing to rent ski equipment. Rental skis, boots and poles will be available for $4 per pair for youngsters 12 and under and $10 for others at the trailhead warming hut. Your rentals must be checked out between 12:30 and 1p.m. and returned by 4:00 p.m. Ski club volunteers will provide free instruction for beginner skate or classical skiing at the Afterhours Ski Trail in Brule.

On days of large turn out, lessons for first-time beginners will start at 1 p.m.; more advanced beginners might be scheduled for lessons at 2p.m. Children must have a signed release form or be accompanied by a parent or guardian who can sign the form.

Everyone is welcome, and youth groups such as scouts and 4-H are encouraged to participate. Youth groups must pre-register.

No memberships are required, and trail passes are not needed if you are participating in the learn-to-ski program.

Pre-registrations must be in by 4 p.m. of the Thursday night preceding the Sunday on which you wish to ski. Call Cragin Machine Shop at 715-392-6988 or via email at siszee@hotmail.com.
