The celebration of the Summer solstice dates back to pre-Christian times. Midsummer is typically associated with nature and with the hope for a good harvest in the coming season. In Sweden, Midsummer is even celebrated as a national holiday.
As with many Scandinavian traditions, celebrating with others goes hand in hand with good food. We would like to invite you to celebrate Midsummer with an authentic Scandinavian dinner featuring Finnish Stew, Swedish rice pudding, Norwegian fruit soup and home baked bread and desserts.
The dinner will be held at the Lakeside Town Hall.

Children (6-12) $5
Children 5 and under FREE
The Midsummer Dinner is sponsored by the Old Brule Heritage Society and is held as a fundraiser to aid in the preservation of the Davidson Windmill and the archiving of historical information concerning rural Douglas County.
In conjuntion with the dinner tours of the Davidson Windmill and Eskolin Log House will be available from 9am to 5pm. A free will donation is requested for tours.
