Open Auditions for Big Top Chautauqua

Open Auditions will be held for lead roles in Big Top’s latest show called ''Ladies of the Canyon.'' We are looking for two or three female singers. Ability to play an instrument is a plus, but not necessary.

Last year we debuted ''Laurel Canyon 1970,'' a show that interpreted some of the Blue Canvas Orchestra’s favorite music from The Eagles and Crosby Stills & Nash. This year, we’re highlighting the women that came out of the Laurel Canyon scene: Carole King, Joni Mitchell, Mama Cass and Dusty Springfield. We may also include Judy Collins, Linda Ronstadt, Stevie Nicks, Janice Joplin and Carly Simon.

To Audition: Work up a song from one of the above artists. You can sing a cappella, accompany yourself, or bring one accompanist with you. Casting will be announced by May 17. Rehearsals scheduled for July 10, 20, 25, 27, Aug. 11 (so far, may add.) Performances scheduled for July 27 and August 11. Performers will receive compensation.

Auditions will take place May 10 & 11 from 4:30 – 6:00 at StageNorth, 123 W. Omaha Street, Washburn, WI
