Brita Rekve, a fiber worker, has taken a cultural aspect towards the studying of Hindi culure through many trips in India and applied her experiences to her workings for her show entitled: "Puja: Dancing Thrums". Her strong use of contemporay colors and fibers make up mandala like fiber constructions in Revke's textured compositions. Banana fiber, old sari fabric, silk wool glass, and flexible tree branches. Rekve pieces are reminiscent of traditional native art dream catchers. The suspension of Revke's pieces hold the ability to create negative space with the use of shadows and subtle shape variations. A receptacle for spiritual energy.
