    About the Artists:
    Patricia Davey:

Some of you may know Patty as a mail carrier for downtown Superior.  She also has another life as a glass artist.  Here she features large stained and fused glass pieces. Patty is inspired by the infinite ways light interplays with the colors of the glass.  She lives in Bennett WI.

    Rachel Nelson:
"I believe that stories are best delivered to the ear and eye.  So I combine stories with music and movement to pull the audience into the story with language older than words."
Rachel is a storyteller, songwriter, and musician whose passion is live performance ; a modern day BardLive with an MA in English and a varied and wide career in the arts,  her Phantom Gallery performance invites you to take your own pilgrimage as she takes hers.  Join her for a telling of her story 'Witch in the Wood' at 6pm - 1621 Broadway and 8pm at the old Antique Depot.

    Sarah Brokke:
Sarah's large scale paintings for this installation explore the feelings of the fragile balance we all hold during this time..... to both be at peace and still be able to step into and care about the bigger picture of what is happening in our world often polarized.
Sarah says ,"I am an Artist who seeks truth through the medium of paint.  I am a woman, in truth, who seeks to actively define my roles as teacher, mother, daughter, wife, partner, sister.  My work is a visual record of that journey'.
Sarah holds an MFA and presently teaches at College of St. Scholastica.

    Adam McCauley:
Adam's paintings, mixed media pieces and sculptures invite looking beneath the surface. Based on underlying grids, this series explores the physical presence and materiality of paint.    Upon first glance we are drawn in by his expert handling of color, surface and texture. Squeegees, scrapers and spatulas are all tools he uses to manipulate and apply the paint.  Each layer of paint informs the overlaying one.  There is an element of push/pull in his work.  Upon first view, the paintings may seem simple but  when we look again, like a story that  reveals more with each telling, what at first looks simple becomes more rich and complex.

    Kyle Elden:
Duluth poet Kyle Elden will be reading from her new book 'Grace Intoxicated' as part of a collaboration with Sarah Brokke's painting installation 'Shift'.
7pm... Wed May 8..... 933 Oakes, Old Superior Antiques Depot

Kyle is a poet who writes as a means to process life, both the difficult to bear and the beautifully sacred and awe-inspiring.

    Signe Johnson:
Guest emerging artist Signe Johnson's projection installation 'Cognitive Leap' is featured through the Duluth Art Institute.
