Polar Bear 5k & 1 Mile Walk/Run

A One Mile and 5k walk/run geared towards adults & children of all ages and abilities. It will begin and end at 129 N 28th St in Superior. We hope to provide a fun atmosphere to promote an active lifestyle while raising money for our community.

This run/walk started with an idea from a group of 6 local women (Polar Bear 6) who have a passion for children, and their education. All of us are former students of the Superior School District and now we have our own children here to carry on the ''Superior'' tradition.

As you may know, there are immeasureable things to learn and experience in the classroom during the elementary school years. We have come together to raise money to enhance technology in the elementary classroom for children in the Superior School District . We would like to provide a rich environment in which our children and our future can benefit most.

When we were introduced to the Promethean ActivBoard, we were taken back by the technology available for students today. What a great tool, not only for the students but for the teachers as well! Our first year goal is to raise $4500.00 which is the cost of one ActivBoard. The recipient of the ActivBoard for 2010 will be Bryant Elementary School. Our hope is that will be an annual event for years to come, with the promise to provide ActivBoard’s to each elementary school in the Superior School District.
