"See Tour: Know the Forest". It's a wonderful time to enjoy The Lake Superior National Estuarine Research Reserve's(NERR)Superior Municipal Forest. Itis the third largest municipal forest in the United States & holds some of the largest stands of northern Boreal forest in Wisconsin. Hike is on uneven terrain; dress for the weather, wear shoes with ankle support, bring a water bottle & insect repellant.
Capture the essence of what you see and make a PostCard entry for Superior Council for the Arts' "PostCards From Our Estuary" writing, photograpy & other art expressions of Superior's inspiring St. Louis Estuary. Entry fee waived for "See Tour" participants.
Submitted "PostCards From Our Estuary" will be displayed at the North End Arts Gallery & the Lake Superior NERR beginning on Lake Superior Day, July 15. Deadline for submission is June 15.
"See the Forest Hike" is a joint project of the Superior Council for the Arts (SCFTA) and Lake Superior NERR. Fee: $5.
