A Superior Winner at Photo Project 365
This is how it all began for Mary McMahan, a new exhibitor at the Superior Council for the Arts Artists Marketplace in the North End Arts Gallery. With less than 30 photos left to post for the year, she has found that using her camera every day has opened her eyes to photographic possibilities that abound in everyday life. One photo, which she submitted after being encouraged by a friend who said it looked like artist John Constable's work, won the Artist Challenge award on the 365 Project. Encouraged by her success, she found the Superior Council for the Arts (SCFTA)website and decided to contact SCFTA's North End Arts Gallery. She made an appointment to show her photographs for inclusion in the December Artist Market. A Superior Council for the Arts team evaluated her portfolio and invited her to exhibit.
McMahan says,
''You have no idea how thrilled I am to get this award and have the opportunity to be showing with real artists!''
McMahan is the Senior Administrative Assistant for Dingwell's North America in Superior.
Artists Marketplace at North End Arts Gallery
The Artist Marketplace opens with a free gala reception from 5pm-8pm on Friday, December 4, 2015 at the North End Arts Gallery. The gallery is located upstairs in the Red Mug Building on the corner of Broadway and Hammond in Superior, Wisconsin.
Businesses in the Red Mug Building will be joining in the gala evening celebrating the 125th birthday of the Victorian stone building, formally named The Building for Trade and Commerce.
The Artist Marketplace is open 12pm - 6pm Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
