An exhibition on the history of Superior's labor movement opens on September 11th at the Douglas County Historical Society, 1101 John Avenue. The society's first new, comprehensive exhibit in their new location, this exhibit begins with the 1889/1890 construction, street and utility laborers' strikes and focuses on Superior's North End, with its shipyards, docks and rail stations. Also home of Tyƶmies and the Superior Cooperative Central Exchange, this exhibit will examine the cultural influences of the labor movement. This exhibition is funded in part by the Superior Federation of Labor,the Wisconsin Labor History Society, and the Wisconsin Humanities Council.
