The Superior Singers Winter Concert - The First Noel: Born is the King

The Superior Singers proudly present their 2010-11 winter concert entitled: "The First Noel: Born is the King", a choral cantata chronicling the events leading to the birth of our Lord. Based on "The First Noel", the songs sung by the angels and the glorious proclamations from all who witnessed this blessed event, this concert captures the joy in song that occurred on that most holy of nights.

This 30 voice choir will entertain with a mixture of familiar carols in creative arrangements, along with exciting, contemporary songs of praise combined to offer a compelling hour long musical event. Opening with the contemplative theme song "Noel: Born is the King", the coming of the Savior is anticipated as "A Distant Voice" tells us that "You Better Get Ready" in rousing gospel style. A new and powerful arrangement of "O Holy Night" sets us up for the blessed event, while "One King" invites the Magi to the manger. The joyous word spreads in "Tell it on the Mountain" that the "Infant Heart of God" has arrived. The powerful finale "The First Noel" reminds us that it is this initial event that truly defines the Christmas season.
