Name: The Work & Life of Laura Ingalls Wilder
    Date: March 26, 2014
    Time: 2:00 PM - 2:00 PM CDT
    Event Description:
Craig Scherf will present a paper and lead a discussion on the work and life of Laura Ingalls Wilder in the Library Peak. The presentation will focus on Laura as artist and author of the eight-volume children’s novels, as well as the collaboration between Laura and her daughter Rose Wilder Lane.

Mrs. Wilder called her books novels and once stated that although everything in the books was true, that not everything that was true was in the books. So, if you are curious about the real life of Nellie Oleson, the role of gender in the Victorian frontier, where the real “little houses” are found, or what happened to Laura after the books, come and join the discussion. Laura said she started the books since many of her Pa’s stories were too good to be lost, so come and share your favorite moments from the Little House books.
