    During Poplar’s Centennial Celebration and annual Poplar Fun Days, Time Arc Theatre presents, “A Murder in Poplar,” an original play by Kathy Laakso. Based on a true event of a 1911 murder, when the citizens of this sleepy countryside found themselves amidst a swirl of rumors, a manhunt and general mayhem when Douglas County Superintendent John Hefstedt was found murdered and dumped into a shallow well.
