Engwall Wolff's Flower Shop in Superior to merge with Engwall's Duluth location on July 31

The popularity of having everything from pizza to holiday packages and even groceries delivered to homes is found everywhere, including in Superior, where nearly 90 percent of the business at Engwall Wolff’s Flower Shop is for deliveries ordered online or over the phone.

That modern reality is leading to the merging of the 1315 Tower Avenue shop into the Engwall Florists, Greenhouses and Garden Centers location in Duluth, effective at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 31. Full floral service throughout the Superior area will continue as always, though.

“Far fewer people walk into bank lobbies anymore; they bank online. They shop online, and they send flowers the same way,” said Engwall President Rod Saline. “Starting August 1, Superior residents will still be able to call the same 392-4711 number and log on to Engwalls.com as they always have, and will still benefit from our 100 percent satisfaction guarantee and the cost savings that come from ordering deliveries locally.”

He added that customers will often deal with the same Engwall Wolff’s employees they’ve known for years, since Superior staff is also merging into the Duluth operations at 4749 Hermantown Road.

Although Engwall’s will no longer have a Superior storefront, the company’s presence in that community is not going away.

“You’ll still see our little green delivery trucks in Superior every day and you’ll still see us involved in Superior community projects and charitable causes as we have been for years,” he said.

Engwall’s has served the Twin Ports from various locations since the late 1800s. Engwall’s Superior location opened in 1975 and merged with Wolff’s Flower Shop in 2011.
