Heavy Metal Tours Kickoff on June 5 at the Bong Center!

With the start of summer officially kicked off, the Bong Center is once again offering its specialty guided tour option, the Heavy Metal Tour, all summer long in 2021! Beginning Saturday, June 5, visitors will be able to upgrade their tour experience to get up close with the M-60 tank and P-38 Lightning airplane. These tours are led by high school students from our Bong Squadron program and will be offered daily through Sunday, August 29 and then again for the Labor Day weekend from September 4 to 6.

The Heavy Metal Tour is a special guided tour in which guests will learn detailed information on the M-60 tank and the P-38 Lightning airplane, in the context of Major Bong’s first two confirmed claims. The tour features parts of the P-38 not available on the general admission tour, including the viewing of the inside of the cockpit.

No advance registrations required for the general public. Each tour begins as requested by visitors with the final tour each day leaving no later than 4:30 pm.
