  • Lori Dargatz named Student Speaker for UW-Superior commencement

    Lori Dargatz will serve as Student Speaker for the University of Wisconsin-Superior’s commencement. The event will take place on Saturday, May 18, at 2 p.m. at Siinto S. Wessman Arena on the UW-Superior campus.
    Dargatz is a bachelor of science degree candidate with Magna Cum Laude honors. She is an interdisciplinary studies: professional studies major with a focus of study in business administration, communication, and psychology.
    A 1989 graduate of Superior High School, Dargatz enrolled in UW-Superior in 2014 as a non-traditional student through the online degree program.
    Professionally, she has worked for Duluth Regional Care Center (DRCC) for more than 25 years. As a program director, she coordinates services for people with cognitive disabilities. Dargatz also enjoys her work as a trainer to new and existing employees at DRCC.
    When not working or studying, she enjoys archery, travel, hunting, fishing and spend time with family and friends. Dargatz, who now lives in Duluth with her husband and their puppy. She is very proud of her two step children in college pursuing their own degrees.
    After graduation, Dargatz plans on traveling, pursuing her hobbies and continuing her work with DRCC by continuing to provide services and assisting with employee growth and development.
    A live video feed will be available the day of the ceremony at uwsuper.edu/graduation/commencement. Siinto S. Wessman Arena is located at 2701 Catlin Ave. in Superior.
