Superior-Douglas County Chamber of Commerce names Taylor Pedersen as Interim President/CEO

The Superior-Douglas County Chamber of Commerce (The Chamber) has named Taylor Pedersen as its Interim President/CEO to replace David Minor, who recently resigned to accept the same position with the Eau Claire Area Chamber of Commerce. Minor has led The Chamber since 1996.  Both Minor and Pedersen will begin their new jobs on July 1.
 
Pedersen has been with The Chamber since 2013, serving as director of the Visitors Bureau and Member Services while also participating in economic development and other community initiatives.
 
“Dave Minor leaves some big shoes to fill, but he’s been grooming Taylor to eventually move into this role,” said Chamber Board Chair Charlie Place. “Although this transition is sooner than expected, Dave and the Board have great confidence in Taylor’s abilities. He already knows The Chamber well, he’s highly regarded in the community and he’s been successful throughout his career, so the transition will be very smooth.”
 
Prior to joining The Chamber, Pedersen was general manager of Synergy Wireless, an AT&T authorized retailer; finance manager of the Superior Housing Authority and owner of an American Family Insurance agency, all in Superior. Before that he worked in the Twin Cities as an internal controls analyst at Honeywell Corporation and an auditor with Ernst & Young.
 
Pedersen, 34, is a Superior native and Superior Senior High graduate who earned a Bachelor of Science in Business degree from the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management.
 
“I’m honored and humbled that The Chamber Board has put its trust in me,” said Pedersen. “We have a great staff and excellent programs already in place, and I’m looking forward to continuing to help our members and community succeed.”
