The University of Wisconsin-Superior Foundation was recently awarded a $25,000 grant from the Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs to assist in supporting programming for the Veteran and Nontraditional Student Center (VNSC).

“The UW-Superior Foundation is extremely proud to support UW-Superior’s VNSC through the WDVA non-profit grant,” said Jason Young, UW-Superior Foundation development officer. “The VNSC provides exceptional programming and support to our veteran students, their families and the region.”

The UW-Superior Foundation seeks to secure, invest, and manage financial resources that support opportunities for UW-Superior students and its facilities. Part of the grant funding will support student veterans and their families through the VNSC Emergency Fund, providing student veterans with financial assistance as extenuating circumstances occur.

Committed to assisting veteran and nontraditional students throughout their academic journey, the VNSC serves as a liaison to benefits and campus and community resources that address the unique needs of UW-Superior’s veteran and nontraditional students. The VNSC facilitates co-curricular programs and events that enhance the overall student experience and improve the campus climate.

The WDVA Non-Profit Grant is awarded to registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations that provide financial assistance or other services to Wisconsin veterans and their families. The WDVA Non-Profit Grant provides up to $25,000 to each grantee, with a maximum of $250,000 awarded annually.
