Gallery Talk on Friday, October 22 at noon and opening reception on Thursday, October 28, at 5:30 p.m.

The University of Wisconsin-Superior Visual Arts Department will host visiting artists for “Remnants” art exhibition.

Amy Varsek, John Sager, Matt Kania and Erin Endsley explore the idea that art can be a marker for the artist’s interpretation of their observations of reality. It can be an index to the natural world, a memory of what was, or a reflection cast by an artist’s perception. This idea comes to life in the Kruk Gallery for their group exhibition, “Remnants.” These four artists operate in divergent mediums from sculpture, to fibers, to photography and printmaking. Each brings their own unique take on the idea of artwork as a shadow to our world.

All events are free and open to the public. The exhibition will be open for viewing weekdays October 15 through December 15. A Gallery Talk with the artists will take place Friday, October 22 at noon with an opening reception on Thursday, October 28, at 5:30 p.m.

The Kruk Gallery is open Monday through Friday, 2 to 6 p.m. For additional information, contact Anne Dugan at (218) 310-4703 or adugan1@uwsuper.edu. The Kruk Art Gallery is in the Holden Fine Arts Center at 1805 Catlin Ave. in Superior.
