UW-Superior to celebrate first-generation students Nov. 8

The University of Wisconsin-Superior will hold a celebration for first-generation students on Friday, Nov. 8, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. in the Yellowjacket Union Great Room.
 
The event, beginning with remarks from Sen. Janet Bewley and Superior Mayor Jim Paine, will highlight students, faculty and staff that are the first in their family to attend college. Nearly half of UW-Superior students are the first in their families to attend college.
 
This event, held in recognition of First-Generation Celebration Day, is free and open to the community. The Yellowjacket Union is located at 1605 Catlin Ave. in Superior.
